There are many factors related to successful laser tattoo removal. Amount of ink, quality of ink, depth of ink, tattoo location, the length of time you have had the tattoo, ink color, and immune system status are just some of the things that can affect the amount of time needed to remove a tattoo. Multiple treatments are always needed and at Dr. TATTOFF we recommend that you wait at least six weeks between treatments. Once you begin treatment you should follow the aftercare instructions and the recommendations of your clinic closely. Most tattoos are treatable but it’s very important that you have realistic expectations and patience. The above is also posted on Dr. Will Kirby’s laser tattoo removal blog.
