Tattoo removal expert and Dr. Tattoff Medical Director, Dr. Will Kirby, recently published an article in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology entitled Paradoxical Darkening and Removal of Pink Tattoo Ink. In the article, Dr. Kirby describes a case in which we treated a woman who had a tattoo with a considerable amount of pink ink. As the paper explains (in much mroe detail), when we started removing this tattoo, the pink actually turned darker. With continued Q-switched laser treatments, the ink eventually resolved resulting in a successful tattoo removal treatment.
