Erasing the past
He won’t tell you what kind of tattoo he once had or where it was located, but James Morel will tell you it was the reason he now runs the million-dollar company, Dr. Tattoff.
“I had this terrible tattoo and I wanted to have it removed. It took me three days to find someone to do it,” Morel says. “I realized I can’t be the only idiot in America with a tattoo I don’t want.”
Morel started Dr. Tattoff by renting a medical office on the weekends. “We just had a call center...and then we’d come into the medical facility on Saturday and treat 60 patients.” The company now has three offices, including one in Irvine, and has plans to take the chain nationwide.
