A square inch is about the size of one postage stamp. A business card is six square inches. To determine how many square inches your tattoo is, measure the length and the width and multiply those numbers together to get the total square inches. Note that we do not charge for areas in your tattoo where there is no ink. For this reason, a lot of people greatly overestimate the cost of their tattoo removal!
Most colors can be removed completely. Some colors may require more treatments. Even the most challenging colors will usually fade significantly. On rare occasion, certain colors may not be removable.

Following the clinical staff's advice will ensure that you get the best results possible in the shortest amount of time.
Laser experts recommend a minimum of eight weeks between treatments to give you the best result. The laser breaks down the ink so your body's immune system can take it away, and this takes time. Treating your tattoo too frequently actually increases the risk of scarring and discoloration; it does not make the ink disappear faster.
You may resume most activities soon after treatment, provided you ensure the area is not rubbed or scratched. If you are in the sun, you should cover the treated area to prevent sunburn until the skin has healed. Most importantly, follow our clinical staff's directions; they may adjust from treatment to treatment to ensure the best results.

We do not treat these types of tattoos. Some cosmetic inks have metallic bases. When the laser comes in contact with these inks, it can turn black. Be cautious of anyone who says they can effectively remove cosmetic ink. Once this darkening occurs, it cannot be removed by any laser. You may end up with permanent black lip liner. Tattooed eyeliner cannot be removed due to the danger of the laser near the eye, and the ink in permanent eyebrows could migrate up the forehead causing a shadow effect.
Yes, you can buy just one treatment at a time. However, there are a couple important advantages to purchasing a package:

The chances of scarring are virtually zero if you are compliant with the aftercare instructions given to you by your treating clinician. Any scarring present before you begin tattoo removal will remain after the tattoo ink has been removed; our lasers do not remove existing scars, only ink.
Pain is your personal perception and everyone experiences it differently. There is a minimal amount of discomfort involved in this procedure. Prior to your treatment, you can numb the area with an anesthetic cream, which is available at our clinics. As we treat the area, we cool the overlying skin with a skin cooling device. This combination of topical anesthesia and cooling air makes the procedure as comfortable as possible.
Shave the area to be treated if necessary.
Apply topical anesthetic 30 minutes prior to treatment.
Avoid Aspirin, Aleve, Motrin, or ibuprofen products
First 24 hours:
- Apply ice compress periodically.
- Rest and elevate the treated area.
- Limit activities, exercising, steam rooms, saunas or swimming.
After 24 hours and until healed:
- Use Aloe-Cort cream twice daily to moisturize.
- You may resume all activities except swimming (unless fully healed).
- DO NOT POP BLISTERS or pick scabs or you may risk infection and scarring.
- Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds during healing process.
- Wait 8 - 12 weeks between treatments.
