Eugene A. Bauer, M.D.

Dr. Bauer is the Lucy Becker Professor, Emeritus, in the School of Medicine at Stanford University, a position he has held since 2002. He served as Vice President for Medical Affairs and Dean of the Stanford University School of Medicine from 1995 to 2001 and served as Chair of the Department of Dermatology at the Stanford University School of Medicine from 1988 to 1995. During his tenure as department chair, Dr. Bauer also served as Program Director of the Stanford University General Clinical Research Center. In addition to serving as the Chairman of the Board for Dr. Tattoff, Inc, Dr. Bauer is also a member of the board of directors of Medgenics, Inc., Arbor Vita Corp., First Wave Technologies, Inc., Patient Safety Technologies, Inc., and MediSync Bioservices. He was a co-founder of Connetics, a publicly-traded biotechnology company that was acquired by Stiefel Laboratories in 2006 and subsequently by GSK. Dr. Bauer was previously Chief Medical Officer of Peplin, Inc., which was acquired by Teo-Pharma in 2009. Dr. Bauer has also served on several not-for-profit boards of directors, including the boards of directors of Stanford Hospital and Clinics, the Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital, and UCSF Stanford Health Care and is a member of many honorific societies, including the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences.
