Danny Bonaduce gets the Dr. TATTOFF logo tattooed at Prix Tattoo

"I wore a sleeveless shirt today... some of the dumber tattoos are showing... the little anchor that couldn't be more gang... my sobriety date which isn't right any more and that chicks name that I don't know any more... I'm going to keep Dr. TATTOFF busy... oh by the way, all of that is true"

"Just to show how well this tattoo removal works... I'm getting the name Dr. TATTOFF tattooed on my wrist" - Danny Bonaduce

Entering Professional World

Fire Service employee sacrifices tattoo for public trust

Three years ago I spent some money for a tattoo underneath my arm. It is an 11-word phrase that I wanted to see everyday in mirror. To me, the phrase meant that everything I had in my life whether it was my family, girlfriend, favorite food(s), accomplished goals, had to be appreciated.

I learned after working so many years in the health care field that life can be taken away very quickly. However, as I embark on a new career in the Fire Service I am also learning that image has a significant impact on public trust. No matter how mentally painful it is take away something that was important to me, I was willing to sacrifice for the opportunity to serve in the community. Saving lives in both professions is the only reminder that I need to appreciate life for what it is.

Michael A.

Avoid judgments in the professional world

My tattoo is an eye of horus, which is a protection from the evil eye (Egyptian). I got it in Egypt, so it was never really done the way I wanted it, and where it is on the wrist, it keeps fading and bleeding. Another reason I am removing it is for one day when I enter the real world, I don't need another reason for people to look at me strangely. I already get strange looks for it doesn't look right, and its placement is wrong. I just received my third treatment, and things are looking up!

Doors shut due to large neck tattoo

My tattoo is a picture of praying hands placed on my neck, it is a rather large piece and draws immediate attention. I am in the process of having it removed because I am tired of being classified as a criminal (only convicts would have a tattoo on their neck). It has cost me several jobs and has shut the door on opportunities that I was more than qualified for. I have gone thru four treatments and the process has lightened the tattoo enough for me to now cover it with make up. The difference in how I am treated is huge. I have started a job at a fine dining establishment who just two years ago would not even interview me. I look forward to finishing this process so I can stop applying make up every morning.

The few minutes of pain are well worth it. I would recommend getting any tattoos that you may feel are slowing you down removed thru Dr. TATTOFF.

Joel B.

Getting judged as a miscreant for visible tattoos

I am in the process of getting 3 tattoos removed on my forearms: a crown, a dragon (face), and some tribal writing.

The reason I'm removing them is because I'm tired of wearing long sleeves to hide them. I was in the military for 7 years and it seemed like 1 out of every 3 people had a visible tattoo (arms, forearms, legs). I didn't really stand out with my forearms tattooed, but after separating from the military, I returned home (Irvine) and found out that I now stick out like a sore thumb. People give me dirty looks and judge me by them, assuming I'm a gang member or some kind of miscreant. Even if the work/office environment were more accepting towards body art, I'd still have them removed. I'm tired of looking at them, I'm tired of hiding them under long sleeves, and I regret ever getting (visible) tattoos. Eventually, I'll have all of them removed.

I kept putting off the tattoo removal process because I kept assuming it would cost thousands and that I'd be in excruciating pain. I was wrong...on both counts. Dr. TATTOFF price plans were very reasonable and affordable, and the laser removal session took under 5 minutes (the pain was quickly forgotten). The aftercare is an inconvenience, albeit a necessary one.

Thanks!!!?

Dan J.

Hardcore surfer turned professional

I have two tattoos that I am having removed. One is a "tribal" arm band and the other is a "tribal' style eagle on my shoulder. Both are black. I am having them removed, as they no longer project an image that is consistent with me now. When I got them, I was a 20 something hardcore surfer who wanted to project a tough, don't mess with me persona. Fast forward 15 years and I am now a professional in the health care industry and cringe every time I see the "tribal" sporting frat guys puking bud light all over the place!

Since I'm in the process of having it removed, my life has not really changed, but my parents keep thanking me! I can imagine going to the company picnic and taking off my shirt to jump in the pool and not being embarrassed by my past two mistakes.

What seemed so cool and needed when I was younger, has become an embarrassment and something that reminds me that we gain wisdom with time! I thought long and hard about getting my tats, and was convinced I'd love them forever. Now I'm convinced I want them gone!

Embarrassment

Daughter teased for mom's tattoo

I am having a tattoo lasered off my hip area because I felt that my daughter had "issues" with it. Since I began removing it several years ago, and she is older now, I have explained to her that you love someone for who they are, what's on the inside that counts, not how a person looks, etc. Her friends were teasing her at the time about my tattoo and it made her feel bad and embarrassed for herself and for me. Seeing this, and being a mom, you do what you can do to change things that are negatively affecting your child. So, I began the removal process. The tattoo I had was a heart in the shape of a peace sign with a rose inter-twined through it. It was my first tattoo, one of a few that I have, but the location of it was the part of the problem with my daughter. Since I began to remove it, she sees that I love her, but the lesson we both learned is that beauty really is only skin deep.

Thanks!?

Dana Z

Embarrassed to reveal tattoo at beach

The tattoo I am having removed is a ring around my belly button. It is rays from a sun tattoo I saw at the local tattoo parlor. The girl I was dating at the time was getting a ring of daisies around her belly button and I thought that was just too feminine, so I opted for the sunrays. This came within a month of my rebellious 18th birthday. Years later as I acquired more tattoos, I realized that the only one I hadn't thought out fully was the one around my navel. It held no significance, and the girl was long gone. Later in life, I came to see this tattoo as effeminate and was often embarrassed to take my shirt off because of it. This being strange, as I had come out as a gay man.

I had a few treatments in with Dr. TATTOFF and the tattoo is almost completely gone. I can already take my shirt off in the clubs without people noticing it. In the club lights, it's practically invisible! I can't wait for the summer to get here so I can show off my stomach at the beach without fear of humiliation, and it'll look more butch.

To anyone who is contemplating tattoo removal, go ahead and do it! You'll feel better about yourself and maybe be a little more confident like I am. Thanks Dr. TATTOFF for making my dreams come true!

Regret large tattoo with bad artwork

I have had some regrets of my tattoo. I got it done on my rib cage, but it came out bigger than expected. I was really depressed about the parts of it I didn't like, and then I found out about Dr. TATTOFF of course, I was skeptical at first, but my girlfriend convinced me to just try it. So I did, I went in for a consultation, and the staff/doctors were really nice, helpful and comforting. They explained the process of getting removal work done, gave great advice on how to take care of it, and the pricing was very reasonable. After actually getting my first session done, I noticed a definite change in my tattoo. I am definitely going to finish the process, and rid myself of living with the regret. Oh, and if you're wondering about the pain...its nothing worse than getting the actual tattoo, and its over in a matter of seconds. Trust me. Finding Dr. TATTOFF was the best solution by far.

Chinese Symbols – "My Big Love" really means "Big Mistake"

I'm sharing my story of the main reason why I'm getting my Tattoo Off. First the tattoo is on my right shoulder, so it's visible when I wear a tank top or very short-sleeved T-shirt. The letters are in Chinese, which, at the time of the purchased thought it, meant "My big love." However, according to many people who speak and read Chinese in Los Angeles, I got ripped off! What the tattoo really means in Chinese is "Big Mistake." I at the time trusted this tattoo artist in Florida, but with more Asians living on the west coast than the southwest, I eventually realized that I got taken.

When I found out, I immediately went to a 'reputable' laser surgeon in Beverly Hills, but my first treatment resulted in many blisters and scarring. What a mess! A tattoo that was insulting and to add insult to injury I had all these blisters covering the tattoo. Very bad situation until I was in the shopping center one day (Dec 2005) and came across a Dr. TATTOFF representative who suggested I come in for a visit. Almost 1 year later, the scarring, blisters AND tattoo are almost gone. Needless to say I can where tank tops again without this eyesore on my shoulder.

I have probably 2 treatments left!

Thanks for everything!?

Reminder of Past Mistakes

Negative youth turned positive through life lessons

Dear Dr. TATTOFF,

I came to Dr. TATTOFF about a year ago to remove a tattoo of "Lady Justice" on my right forearm. I got the tattoo about 6-7 years ago because I strongly felt that "fairness" did not exist. I was bitter about struggling through the life lessons of the twenties. But now as I am in my later twenties approaching my thirties I no longer feel so negative. I have learned that I do have a lot of control over my life, especially my immediate situation and future and that I can take control of my outlook. Today I am more optimistic and my perspective is more positive. That is the reason I am having the image of "Lady Justice" removed. The scar left from the removal process should serve as a physical reminder that I underwent this growth.

Mark B.

Tattoo is reminder of past mistakes

My tattoos are a face and a globe with prison bars in it. I got these tattoos done when I was in prison. I had a serious drug addiction when I was younger and was incarcerated for some time due to it. I have since cleaned up and have gotten on with my life. I just felt every time I look at those tattoos they remind me of a part of my life that is over. The first session of treatment changed the way I look at my future and myself. I'm very thankful to Dr. TATTOFF for helping me erase memories of a time I want to forget.

Thanks again,?

In My Youth

Ex-girlfriends name on chest, saying it was grandma's name didn't fly

My story is probably a common one:

A friend of mine purchased a tattoo gun when he was 18. I was 16. It was so cool at the time. If I wanted a tattoo I would call him up and get it done, I didn't have to think about it or anything, just put it on me, no worries if it sucked I'd just get it covered (right...), this was all good, and the tats came out O.K., not professional by any means, but decent enough, and being so young I was cool no matter what.

Then Christmas came around, I didn't have any money to get anything for my girlfriend at the time, and she WAS pregnant, so I figured I'd save some money, and really impress her. SO I put her name on my chest... ARRGH... so now 8 years later, 5 after breaking up with her, at 27, I hear about it every time I take off my shirt. Not to say that every girlfriend has refused to accept my mistake, but it is brought up every time I take off my shirt. I try to say it's my grandma's name, but it rarely flies! And what do you know... it costs a lot more to get it taken off than the price of putting it on, and I have to get it done multiple times... OH MAN... but I will say, after just one treatment it has faded significantly, and I am definitely looking forward to the future treatments.

There is no scarring or discoloration, the pain is tolerable, and does not compare to the pain of wearing it for this long, and I can see it fading. I can't wait to finish up the treatment and get this one off for good. Then I can worry about my other crappy tatts. Being a professional now, its tough being scared of wearing short sleeves, or going to the beach and being afraid people get the wrong idea, or my kids asking why I have that scary face on my arm... I am thankful that the technology has come this far, and although its not cheap, it is permanent.

THANKS Dr. TATTOFF!!! For giving me hope and erasing my stupid, stupid mistakes...

Best regards,?

Ramon M.

Drinking and tattoos don't mix

I have a shooting star on my hip. It kind of looks like a star with sprinkle frosting. I got this particular tattoo removed cause I simply hate it. It was a good friends birthday, we got wasted and ended up at a tattoo shop. I don't ever suggest drinking and getting tattooed. We ended up getting matching tattoos. I've never liked it and I was always embarrassed to show anyone cause it wasn't something I wanted. So I decided to go through with the treatment 2 years after living with it. I went through 5 treatments and I plan to get it completely covered up.

It hasn't changed anything in my life with it gone, except that it's not pointed out as much. With the other tattoos I have being much brighter, that attention goes to that. I keep the Dr. TATTOFF business card taped to my computer monitor here at work and I must have referred a couple handfuls of people over to their office.

I don't think you should have to live with something you're not proud of. Thanks for helping me out when I needed it.

Thank you,?

Jessica A.

Tattoo Artists

Clear space for new ink

For anyone interested in Tattoo Removal, especially my fellow artists, as well as the O.G.'s that have some older tattoos that may not be up to speed with the new "Pepsi generation" artwork... its all been figured out for you, don't worry about a thing.

You can get the "less loved" tattoos lightened or flat out removed. Maybe clear some space if you have a body full, to get some of that new high tech artwork on your self. Whatever the case, you won't go wrong here at Dr. TATTOFF. They ain't haters of fine tattooing, in fact. Most of them happily show their tattoos and have plans for more. Unlike a couple other "popular" tattoo removal spots around town, you won't walk out of here like a war victim. In fact, after having my hand hit (lasered) pretty hard one day, I went right back to work and outlined a sleeve like an hour afterwards. So now that you have the heads up on this stuff, man (or woman) up and get on in here.

Perfectionist lightening old art to maintain artistic inspiration

I have a chest, back, and sleeve piece depicting Chinese and Japanese warriors, dragons, serpents, a foo dog, and an eagle, all surrounded by wind patterns. It is a Japanese-American style tattoo with Asian and American characters, themes and influences.

I am actually not removing the entire tattoo. There are just sections of this mural that need to be removed and improved with new artwork and/or details. On some sections of my body, this mural was actually a cover up for older artwork, so I want to remove the old artwork, since the cover-up could not completely conceal what was there previously. I intend to completely remove, or lighten as much as possible, these particular areas, and have an artist redo new artwork on top, to make the piece more uniform.

Some people have told me that these areas are barely noticeable and that I am probably wasting my time and money, but I know they're there, and I am a perfectionist at heart, so it makes me feel good about addressing these areas of my art.

The tattoo depicts various personal events throughout my life, and every time I look at it, it reminds me of these events, and allows me to reflect on what I've been through. I sometimes think of my tattoos as armor, or an artistic record and representation of who I am and what I believe in. It reminds me to stay focused and keep on track...

Be yourself, and be or become the person you want to be, not what others want you to be. Find your own path to happiness and do your best not to allow others to dictate what that path should be. Treat others with respect, and treat them better than they treat you. It all comes back...

Weddings and Marriage

Wish I removed my tattoo before my wedding

I have a large bird on my left shoulder. I am in the process of removing it at the Beverly Hills location. I have not liked it for years but haven't had a good enough reason to remove until I got engaged.

I found Dr. TATTOFF via the internet. I was super excited to get going of the removal of my tattoo, so it would not show in my wedding photos- I had a strapless dress.

Unfortunately, we had a short engagement so I didn't have enough time to start the process of tattoo removal. I ended up getting another tattoo to camouflage the bird so I wouldn't focus on it when I look at my wedding photos.

Now that the wedding is over, I am finally in the process of removing the tattoo I dislike and wish I had thought of it sooner before the wedding.

I was married at the Venetian in Las Vegas! My husband has no tattoos.

Wants to look elegant at her wedding

My name is Jaime and I'm getting married in May. I have a black Cat tattoo on my left leg that I picked off a wall in a tattoo parlor when I was 19. I am now 37 and am not quite the same person I was then. I would like to be more elegant and not be reluctant to wear skirts and dresses. I would like to be able to wear a tea length gown and sandals and not have to discuss my silly tattoo at my wedding. It's nearly gone and I am looking forward to the big day!

Thanks Dr. Tattoff!

Jaime S.

Doesn't want tattoo to be distracting

This is my story:

My tattoo is on my left arm. It is a Chinese character about an inch wide that represents the "Happiness" sign. The reason I wanted to remove it was because I was planning to wear a wedding dress with a halter-top. I didn't want to show it during my wedding.

It feels refreshing to have my tattoo slowly removed. I feel free to wear halter-tops and tube top clothing. I don't feel embarrassed in public of my blatant tattoo. It may take a few more treatments, but as for my wedding-- I used a cover-up stick, which was enough to cover the tattoo after the prior Dr. TATTOFF treatments I had.

I do recommend removing your tattoo, especially for your wedding. There may or may not be people at the wedding that may be distracted by the tattoo from your beautiful wedding dress/hair/makeup. I truly enjoyed having Dr. TATTOFF treatments prior to my wedding!

Trinity P.

Noone would believe she has these tattoos

Dr. TATTOFF

Everywhere I go I share my wonderful experience with others that might want their tattoos removed. I live 4 hours away from Dr. Kirby's office and I wouldn't go anywhere else! I have a 4x4 inch black tribal face tattoo between my shoulders and another design on the small of my back approx the same size. I have had 4 treatments at a different office close to my home with little to no results. I have only been to Dr. TATTOFF ONE time and the change is amazing. I could tell within the first week that this time was going to be different, there was going to be results!! The staff is friendly and very professional. I felt very comfortable. I got both tattoos when I was 16 years old and didn't really think about walking down the isle with a beautiful white wedding gown in the future. All people would see would be the large tribal scary face staring at them. I just can't have that!! People that meet me would never suspect that I would even consider getting a tattoo, let alone the two terrible ones I do have. I am a professional in a small town. I will not wear anything that shows the tattoos, which makes life pretty unbearable in the Ca summers. I plan to continue my sessions with Dr. TATTOFF until those awful tattoos are gone. My boyfriend and I are looking at rings and plan to get married sometime within the next 18 months; with the help of Dr. TATTOFF I will be able to wear that beautiful white dress.

Removing ex-husbands name from chest

The tattoo I have is the name of my ex-husband. I made the biggest mistake of my life when I was young I tattooed his name on my chest. We been divorced for 5 years now and the tattoo is still there. I met a wonderful man and we plan to get married by the church since I didn't get to do it with my first marriage. In the beginning of the relation ship he didn't say anything about it but, about two years ago I noticed that it really bother him when people would see it and stare at it. I would get so embarrassed. So I decided to start my treatment with Dr. TATTOFF. I have had 4 treatments since and I would have finished my treatment but I became pregnant in the middle if the treatment and I couldn't continue until after the baby was born. My baby is born now and I have continued my treatment again. I'm very happy with the results so far. The treatment is really good and my tattoo is almost gone. I couldn't be happier, It was one the best decisions I made in a long time. I strongly recommend tattoo removal. Now I could continue with my wedding plans, by the time the wedding comes the tattoo will be completely gone and I could wear the what ever dress I want.

Getting remarried and wants to erase past mistakes

Dear Future Brides:

Everyone has been young and in love at least once in their life. And during those influential years, choices are made. I don't believe that any choice is necessarily right or wrong, but rather a lesson in life. Well, at 18, I made a choice - I married my high school sweetheart. I thought he was the one, that he was the guy for me, that we would grow old together. For a one-year anniversary present, I got his name tattooed on my ankle along with a red rose underneath it. I don't think I could have given him a better gift. He had been trying to get me "inked up" for quite some time, especially "branding" me with his name. However, times change, people grow up and move apart. His love of alcohol grew dangerous for both of us - he became angry, violent, and unpredictable. Three years after our wedding, we had filed for divorce. Needless to say, the tattoo was a constant reminder to me of all the pain and suffering. I had been doing all the research into tattoo removal for months and came to one conclusion - it was too expensive for me. Time passed and despite my defiant statement of never letting myself fall in love again, I have been blessed with my soul mate. He knows all the bad stuff about me (and me him), but when all is said and done, he still chooses to stay by my side and fight with me rather than leaving me to my own. We are now anxiously planning our wedding for September 2007. When we were first engaged, I was anxious to return to my tattoo removal. My wounds had healed and I was a new person, I didn't feel that I should suffer with the reminder. On to the searches I returned and found Dr. TATTOFF. Not only were they more than competitively priced, they also boasted a friendly-knowledgeable staff along with state-of-the-art equipment. At my initial appointment, I knew I had made the right choice. I have since received 4 treatments (my last appointment they received an upgraded machine which is even less painful, more powerful, and has reduced my healing time). I couldn't be more pleased with the progress. At this point, the only part of the tattoo that is distinguishable is the stem of the rose. Every other part has faded beyond recognition - they actually have to refer to the initial pictures to see what they need to target!! That's how quickly the removal process has been for me!

If you want the wedding day you have dreamed of since you were a little girl minus any life choices you have made in the past, Dr. TATTOFF is the one for you. I wish you all the luck in all your future endeavors!

Lisa B.

Divorced and wants wedding band tattoo removed

My ex-husband and I got our wedding rings tattooed. We got divorced 5 years ago and I'm working on getting my ring removed with you guys. It is the most liberating feeling to have my finger back!!! I think I have one more treatment to go!
